I have to comment on one thing; far from all of the original founding Paladins were actually clerics in their previous lives, unlike the author pointed out.
Quite a few of them were actually knights, like the majority of Paladins were that joined the order after the founding members.

This is true. Gavinrad was directed to the Silver Hand by Anduin Lothar. Turalyon, Dathrohan and Tirion were recruited by Faol. It seemed largely irrelevant in the context of the Order itself. I gave a little background on the fall of these members, but did not really aim to get a biography of each in this single post.
I also did not intend to imply that -all- members of the Silver Hand were clerics. The Founding Fathers, Alonsus Faol and Uther Lightbringer, were clerics of the Order of Northshire.
