Don't Forget how she also left Tryande to die at the hands of the scrouge to hold them off for her, and then lied about it to Mal all to chase illidan.

Sure, she left Tyrande behind. That wasn't very nice of her. But 1) Tyrande had proved that she held little regard for the rule of law, and was willing to do some pretty stupid shit in her quest (who really thinks murdering the watchers to release Illidan was a good idea?), and 2) Tyrande fell in a RIVER. She wasn't swarmed by the undead or any such shit. She took an unintended swim, boo-hoo. Given the capacity of Warcraft heroes, I think it extremely likely that Maiev told that lie because she knew Tyrande was alive.
She told that lie because frankly, shit needed taking care of, and "Mal" wouldn't have had the balls to take care of business before running off to save Tyrande, and thus jeopardizing everything they had been working for. Cruel and mercenary of her? I would say yes. But hardly evil.

What shit exactly needed taken care of? Illidan was doing what no one else had the common sense to do. Granted, he was doing it in his typically reckless way and he was hardly doing it for altruistic reasons, but come on now. As he himself said, dominion over the world was never his goal. He just wanted the magic crack. If people actually took five minutes to ask dude wtf he was doing, we probably wouldn't even be bogged down in Northrend right now because there wouldn't even be a Lich King. Furion would have sat Maiev's trigger happy ass down, everyone would have gotten their act together and taken out Arthas before he even got to the Frozen Throne. Of course, we'd probably be too busy fighting off KJ and the Sunshine Band instead, but that's a whole other post.
God Night Elves are stupid. You'd think after living for so freakin' long, they'd have developed some kind of common sense.

While that's a good point, Kylene, what you have to consider is that the Night Elves didn't know that. They had no idea what Illidan's goals were. And frankly, it's not that outrageous to think that after locking somebody up for ten thousand years, he'd be trying to hurt you and yours. Sure, the truth of the matter was that he was doing a pretty good thing. Heck, I like Illidan as a character. But as far as the Night Elves knew? He was trying to rip Kalimdor a new arse, or something. That he would be after the Lich King isn't exactly the first conclusion you would come to.

I never said she was evil i just think that wasn't something he should leave out and i doubt she thought tyrande would live actually with all that has happen i bet she hopped she died. Also it doesn't mean Malfurion is a ball less coward if he went after Tyrande but it would of been selfish because he would of been putting her first before his people. Third to the part of "getting shit done" yes she was but not for her people not because it was right, but just because she was dead set on getting revenge on getting Illidan for all he has done and since she can't do anything to Tyrande besides hope the water kills her she directs it to him. Lastly she fell in the river holding off a horde of undead and apparently they followed her down river cause the last quest is to save her from the undead and also what Tyrande has done she is just the same as Maiev accept that her goals are different.
