And I just can't help but think that a one of a kind weapon will suddenly be found in hundreds of people's hands...
(Even if it's a rare drop, it's bound to fall more than once...)

The same applies to every other lore-filled blade in the game (Gorehowl drops in Kara right?).
On another note, what dragon is that at QD's rest? The one pinned under the blade?

It's not Sindragosa. She is a boss in ICC. (watch the wotlk opening cinematic, its cool. you can see it from the login screen.)

Its probably just some random dragon that happened to die near where Sindragosa was raised.

It's not a rare drop, it's from a questline that is outlined in the article. All the stuff about going into the 5-man ICC dungeons and the Sunwell? YOU actually do that, to restore the blade yourself.

And said quest line is started from a rare zone drop epic quest-starter item called the [Broken Hilt] in the Frozen Halls 5-mans.
