Accounts vary but it turns out Deathwing wiped out only most of the flight during that encounter. Sindragosa for instance was flung far away. Not to meantion blue dragons still existed in the 10,000+ years between the War of the Ancients and The Battle of Grim Batol (See Arygos, Arcanagos, Azuregos, Sapphiron, etc...). Quite a few blues escaped back to Northrend where their battles with the blacks are behind the creation of Crystalsong, the Westrift, and their settling on Coldarra. Nothing is absolute.
