just a random though but what if we have been lied to and its not many old gods, but one dismembered old god. As in the only way the Titan's could imprison him was to scatter his parts across the sphere of Azeroth.

The spirit still connects the parts but lacks the full sentience and power it will have when the hammer brings him to one place.
